A Local Company Serving Local Customers

The roots of a new telephone company were planted when the Wittenberg Telephone Company was Established in 1898.   In 1921 Wittenberg Telephone Company was incorporated and thus began the 98-year journey to what the company has evolved into today. In 1988 Wittenberg Telephone Company began to deploy a Cable TV system to provide television to our customers.    In 1996 Wittenberg Telephone began the roll out of internet to our customers in Wittenberg and Elderon to meet the demands of our subscribers.  The company currently has 77 shareholders with the Peterson family being the majority and 16 employees.

In June 2010 Wittenberg acquired a fiber network in the city of Antigo, WI and began our CLEC expansion as Cirrinity with the purchase of an office in Antigo, WI in 2012.   Cirrinity, powered by Wittenberg Telephone Company, deploys a hybrid fixed wireless and fiber network to the areas in and around Antigo and East to Pickerel, WI, allowing expansion of its footprint and the ability to bring vital high-speed broadband to rural areas.

Having started as a small-town local company our employees are proud to carry the company’s heritage with them each day and strive to provide top-notch customer service and support to our service areas of Wittenberg, Elderon, Antigo, and surrounding areas in North East Wisconsin.  Providing high-speed broadband to all our subscribers while maintaining personal and high-quality customer service is vital to each interaction.  Wittenberg ensures taking care of our community happens each and every day as well by providing donations to schools and local scholarships.    Our employees are key to ensuring Wittenberg and the surrounding areas get the reliable and affordable high-speed internet that is important to the community’s economic development while sustaining long-term growth.
